Virgil B. Kell (75) passed away on November 16, 2021 in Castle Rock, WA from natural causes. In his last hours he was surrounded and comforted by his loving family. He was born on November 28, 1945 in North Carolina to Granvel and Emma (Chadwick) Kell.
In his early years Virgil worked as a logger, both self-employed and with many different companies. He was always doing side jobs as well, mostly as a mechanic. He enjoyed doing both and was very good at them. He taught his boys these skills as well. He enjoyed working with his boys and was proud to see his kids doing the things he loved.
Virgil was a strong but sensitive man. He wasn’t afraid to show his feelings. He had a great sense of humor and was always trying to make people laugh.
Virgil loved Jesus and it was his passion to tell everyone he knew about Him. In his words, he was a “preacher!” He enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart and in his last hours was watching him on TV while telling his children how they need to support his ministry. Virgil wanted everyone he knew to find the Lord.
Virgil is survived by his children Christina Ruiz (Dominique), Laik Kell (Josie), Tia Heidler (Jesse), Luke Kell (Pam), Leland Kell, Nathaniel Gatts, and many others he “adopted” by heart throughout his life. One who specifically held a special place in his heart was Jimmy Thomasson.
He is also survived by his siblings Allie Fair Stiles, Mozell Miller, Linda Dillard, and Lillie Wood, his many grandchildren Courtney Boren, Amanda McCafferty, Meagan McCafferty, Devin McCafferty, Serenity Kell, Khloe Kell, Kobee Heidler, Kaison Heidler, Kashdyn Heidler, and Skyler Watkins, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son Jonny Kell, his parents, Granvel and Emma Lee Kell, his siblings, Furman Kell, Norman Kell, Lee Roy Kell and Mary Etta Grisham, and his grandchildren Baily Kell and Kwynn Heidler.
