Kathryn Sue Fornshell

July 3, 1948 — November 22, 2020

Kathryn Sue Fornshell of Vader, Washington passed away on November 22 in Longview, Washington.

She was born to Clifford and Luella Lively on July 3, 1948 in Vancouver, Washington. Kathy grew up in Washougal, where she graduated from Washougal High School.

Kathy met Neal Tester when she was just 17 years old, and they were married in 1966. They spent 33 years together and raised a family of five children in Yacolt, Washington. In 2005 Kathy and Thomas Fornshell were married, and they lived together for the past 15 years in Vader, Washington.

Those who knew Kathy were well aware of her love for spending time in the kitchen. This love was shown in her career as a cook for public school as well as Head Start. Although while working for Head Start she also drove school bus, her real passion was being the cook. Her creativities outside of the kitchen included singing and poetry. She was a member of a poetry club for many years. Kathy also enjoyed donating time to rest stop areas where she fed hungry travelers her wonderful homemade cookies.

Kathy will be missed by her husband: Thomas; her children: Ramona Tester, Rebekkah (Boyd) McLaughlin, Raelene (Matthew) Hegre, and Jeffrey Tester; siblings: Morris Lively and Karen Otis; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Tester.

Kathy touched so many lives and was remembered for her wonderful cooking, her generosity of time and spirit, her beautiful voice in song, and the love she had for her family and friends.
