Listen to Obituary

Ina Patricia Brawner, 84, of Woodland, Wa, passed to glory surrounded by her family and loving husband ,"Butch," of nearly 64 years.

"Pat" was one of ten children born to Ascaur and Sylvia Lane and is pre-deceased by her parents and five of her siblings: Alice, Philip, Daniel, Carl and Sally.

Pat leaves us with a legacy of faith, love, devotion and many memories that will carry on through the lives of those she touched along her journey.

Pat spent her life serving the churches she had been a member of throughout the years. She taught Missionettes at both the Hazel Dell and Camas Assembly of God churches and would make uniforms for any Missionette that could not afford to buy a uniform. Pat belonged to Woodland Assembly of God at the time of her passing.

After moving to Vancouver, Pat used her sewing talents to begin a career. She started as a machine operator for Jantzen Swimwear where she became friend and mentor to all. After a few years she left Jantzen and opened a home daycare.

The children in her care had so much fun and felt so much love, they would often cry when it was time to leave. Eventually, she returned to the workforce outside her home and held a supervisor position at Royal Manufacturing until she took a position at Security Chains. Finally, Pat settled into seventeen years as supervisor of the Drapery Room at Goodell's, a company that made custom drapes for high end clients.

Pat had many interests, hobbies and talents. She will be remembered for her resourcefulness and how she could turn simple ingredients into comforting meals and scraps of fabric into outfits for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pat's passions included crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading her bible, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, cooking, baking and canning. She won several blue ribbons for cakes, various canned pickles and dolls she made.

Pat loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made each one of them their own special blanket and baby outfits. She treasured each small gift they presented to her, whether it be a rock they had found beautiful, a dandelion growing in the yard or a hand drawn picture.

Pat will be missed by the family she leaves behind and the many friends who became family.

Pat leaves to celebrate her memory:
